English Composition Competition
In order to stimulate students' enthusiasm for English writing, enhance their cultural expression and critical thinking abilities, and showcase the unique features of our school's foreign language teaching, on the afternoon of October 22nd, the English teaching and research group of the Senior High School Department of our school held an English composition competition for Grade 11 and Grade 120in the combined classroom of the Senior High School Department. Accordingly, students actively signed up and enthusiastically participated. Using pen as a medium, they expressed their viewpoints and conveyed their understanding of China's excellent traditional culture in fluent English, presenting us with a wonderful feast of language and thought collisions.
To begin with, this competition has the core theme of 'How Chinese Proverbs Help Me Solve Study Problems', aiming to not only test students' English expression skills, but also to integrate cultural reflection with daily life. What's more, this theme enabled students to not only learn English but also deepen their understanding of the incredible traditional Chinese culture, thus achieving a dual expression of 'language tools' and 'cultural core'. 
In addition, at the competition venue, students sat at their desks, their expressions extremely focused. From their firm grip on the pens and the occasional brightening of their eyes, not only could we see their love for English writing, but also sense the solid English proficiency and rigorous academic qualities of the students from Anqing Foreign Language School. 
Last but not the least, after a meticulous selection process by the English teachers, several winners were chosen, including the top prizes of Special Award, First Prize, Second Prize, and Third Prize. Later on, at the first awarding ceremony of this semester, group leader Wang Qing'an of the English teaching and research group read out the list of students who won the awards. In the meantime, leaders of the Senior High School Department jointly presented certificates to the winning students to commend their solid language skills and outstanding critical thinking abilities demonstrated in this English composition competition.
In summary, not only did this competition provide a platform for students to showcase their English writing skills, but also promoted the deep integration of Chinese traditional culture and English learning, which enabled students to learn to tell their own growth stories in a global language through cultural expression, thus laying a foundation for their subsequent English learning and improvement of cultural literacy. Subsequently, the Senior High School Department of our school will continue to actively carry out various activities, comprehensively facilitating the all-round development of students.
